DR DAVID CHAN

Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon Medical Director MB ChB (UK), M Med, FAMS, MRCS (Edin), FRCS (Edin)

Dr. David Chan is the Medical Director and Senior Consultant Eye Surgeon at Atlas Eye Specialist Centre. He specializes in complex cataract, anterior segment, and refractive surgeries, offering treatments such as high-risk cataract surgery, laser vision correction (SMILE/LASIK), lens exchange, and implantable contact lenses.
Dr. Chan graduated from the University of Leicester and holds postgraduate degrees in Ophthalmology from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the National University of Singapore (NUS). He completed fellowships in anterior segment and refractive surgery at the University of Calgary under Professor Howard V. Gimbel.
He is a member of major ophthalmological societies and is actively involved in research and peer-reviewed publications. Dr. Chan is registered with medical councils in the UK, Singapore, and Canada, and is recognized as an ophthalmology specialist by Singapore’s Ministry of Health.
A dedicated educator, Dr. Chan has trained many eye surgeons locally and internationally. He received the MOH Courage STAR Award in 2003 for his role during the SARS epidemic and has contributed to numerous charitable surgical missions in Southeast Asia, Canada, and Singapore.

DR JOHN WONG

Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Anterior Segment Surgeon MBBS, Dip. (Family Med.), MMed(Ophth), FRCOphth.(UK)

Dr. John Wong is a Senior Consultant Ophthalmologist and Anterior Segment Surgeon at Atlas Eye Specialist Centre, specializing in managing routine and complex cataracts, including advanced procedures like femtosecond laser-assisted surgery and intraocular lens fixations. He also performs laser vision correction (LASIK, PRK, SMILE) and implantable contact lens surgery, with over 14 years of experience in general ophthalmology.
He earned his medical degree from NUS in 2007, followed by further qualifications in Family Medicine and Ophthalmology, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (UK). His subspecialty training includes observership at Heidelberg University and a surgical fellowship in anterior segment surgery in Israel.
Dr. Wong has published 14 scientific papers, presented at international conferences, and frequently participates in regional educational events. He serves as a Visiting Consultant at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and held teaching roles at NUS and NTU medical schools.
