Dr. Lim Yeong Phang serves as a Senior Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive cardiac surgery procedures. He earned his degree from Cambridge University followed by his FRCS from Edinburgh and Glasgow. Following his training he joined Dr. Roger Mee at the Cleveland Clinic for his fellowship before making important contributions to Singapore’s medical field by performing the country’s first lung transplant and combined heart-liver transplant. Through his leadership he developed two innovative surgical techniques: Endo Radial and Endo Vein harvesting and Hybrid Coronary Revascularization. Under his leadership as the Medical Director of the National Cardiovascular Homograft Bank it achieved its first international tissue bank accreditation from the American Association of Tissue Banks (AATB). As part of his work he co-directed Singapore’s ECMO program and trained healthcare professionals during the H5N1 pandemic. Dr. Lim maintains his role as adjunct assistant professor at Duke-NUS while continuing his professional membership in various societies. His medical career aside he dedicates himself to athletics by competing in marathons and Ironman triathlons.
