Dr. Kang Ning

Kang Ning Cardiothoracic Surgery (Kang Ning CTS) is led by Dr. Kang Ning, one of Singapore’s most experienced cardiothoracic surgeons, performing 250 to 300 surgeries annually. He is currently a consultant cardiothoracic surgeon at Parkway Hospitals, Farrer Park Hospital, Mount Alvernia Hospital, and Raffles Hospital. Additionally, he serves as a visiting consultant at the National Heart Centre Singapore and is a consultant surgeon at the SingHealth Duke-NUS Transplant Centre. His academic role includes serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at SingHealth Duke-NUS Medical Centre.

Dr. Kang graduated from Shanghai Medical College, Fudan University in 2001. After completing a five-year residency at Shanghai Chest Hospital, he pursued a cardiac surgery fellowship at the National Heart Centre Singapore. Furthering his academic career, he earned a Master’s Degree in Philosophy from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.

 

Upon returning to Singapore, Dr. Kang became a Member of the Royal College of Surgery (Glasgow) in 2012 and achieved the title of Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS, CTh, Edinburgh) in 2016. With extensive experience in adult cardiac surgery, he also completed two minimally invasive thoracic surgery fellowships in Vancouver, Canada, and Shanghai, China, from 2016 to 2018. His specializations include minimally invasive thoracoscopic surgery alongside comprehensive adult cardiac and thoracic surgeries.

Dr. Kang has been registered with the Singapore Medical Council since 2013 and is an active member of the Medical Protection Society, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons in Glasgow, and the Cardiovascular Surgery Doctor Branch of the Chinese Medical Doctor Association.

Beyond his surgical practice, Dr. Kang contributes to the medical community through volunteer work, including supporting the Standard Chartered Marathon. He has also served on the Case Notes Review Committee for the National Heart Centre’s Joint Commission International (JCI) and the SingHealth Tissue Review Committee, ensuring the highest standards of medical care and ethical practice.
