Dr. Tong Ming Chuan is a highly experienced Consultant Cardiovascular Surgeon practicing at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre in Singapore. Previously, he held prominent positions such as Head and Senior Consultant of the Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery and Director of the Heart and Lung Transplant Programs at Singapore General Hospital. Dr. Tong is a pioneer in the field, having performed the first heart transplant in Singapore in 1990 and leading the first lung transplant in 2000. His expertise lies in managing coronary artery disease and performing coronary artery bypass surgery (CABG) and other adult cardiac surgeries. He is also at the forefront of utilizing all-arterial grafts for CABG, minimally invasive CABG, and off-pump CABG techniques in Singapore.
