Dr Kenneth Chan

Dr. Kenneth Chan is a senior physician specializing in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1995 and obtained his postgraduate qualifications in 1999. He completed advanced training at Singapore General Hospital and further honed his expertise through fellowships in Canada and Germany, focusing on intensive care and advanced bronchoscopic procedures.

He has served as President of the Singapore Thoracic Society and the Society of Intensive Care Medicine, Singapore. Passionate about education, he has held teaching roles at both Duke-NUS and the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Dr. Chan is also deeply involved in Evidence-based Medicine, regularly teaching and speaking at regional conferences.

His research interests include intensive care, mechanical ventilation, and acute respiratory distress syndrome, with publications in top journals like CHEST. He is skilled in advanced technologies like ECMO, high-frequency ventilation, and bronchial thermoplasty.

Dr Constance Lo

Dr. Constance Lo is a consultant respiratory physician at Gleneagles Medical Centre. Previously, she was a senior consultant at Singapore General Hospital’s Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. She earned her MBBS from the National University of Singapore in 1990 and her MRCP (UK) in 1995. She became a certified respiratory specialist in 1999.
In 2000, Dr. Lo received a Health Manpower Development Award and completed a clinical fellowship in Respiratory Medicine at the University of Toronto, followed by additional training in Interventional Pulmonology in France. She has extensive experience in general pulmonology, bronchoscopy, sleep-related breathing disorders, and medical thoracoscopy.
Dr. Lo has contributed to regional medical education, speaking at major conferences and conducting workshops. She served as a clinical lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine (2008–2011) and supervised the Respiratory Therapy Department at SGH (2001–2011), with a strong interest in non-invasive ventilation technologies.

Dr. Chew Huck Chin is a consultant respiratory physician and intensivist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He previously served at Singapore General Hospital (SGH) in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1999 and holds multiple postgraduate qualifications, including Master of Medicine in Emergency and Internal Medicine, MRCS (Edin), MRCP (UK), and the European Diploma in Intensive Care. Dr. Chew completed dual specialty training in both Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine at SGH.
He has held leadership and committee roles in several professional medical societies and was involved in hospital planning and service development. As an educator, he has held academic appointments at Duke-NUS and NUS, receiving recognition as an Outstanding Educator in Critical Care.
Dr. Chew is actively involved in clinical research, with publications in notable journals and experience as a peer reviewer. His clinical interests include general respiratory medicine, Intensive Care, non-invasive ventilation, and advanced bronchoscopic procedures, including endobronchial ultrasound and thoracic ultrasound.

 

Dr. Tan Aik Hau

Dr. Tan Aik Hau is a consultant respiratory and intensive care physician at Mount Elizabeth Hospital, with prior experience at Singapore General Hospital. He graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2004 and earned a Masters of Medicine and membership in the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2009. He specialized in Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine at Singapore General Hospital.
Dr. Tan has a special interest in advanced bronchoscopic techniques, pleural diseases, and medical pleuroscopy. He was the course director for advanced bronchoscopy courses in 2013, 2015, and 2017, and spoke at the 7th Asia Pacific Congress of Bronchology. In intensive care, his focus includes extracorporeal life support (ECLS) and critical care ultrasound. He pursued a fellowship in ECLS at the Alfred Intensive Care Unit in Melbourne in 2013 and received certifications in ECLS management and clinician-performed ultrasound.
He has also been involved in teaching, holding various academic positions and regularly lecturing advanced trainee nurses. In recognition of his teaching, he received the Singapore Health Residency Outstanding Faculty Award in 2016.

Dr Adrian Chan Kwok Wai

Dr. Chan Kwok Wai Adrian is a consultant respiratory physician and intensivist at Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital. He previously worked at Singapore General Hospital in the Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine. A graduate of the National University of Singapore, Dr. Chan holds memberships and qualifications from the Royal College of Physicians (UK) and has pursued advanced training in Allergy and Asthma. He has expertise in respiratory medicine, particularly bronchoscopic techniques and adult allergy medicine. Dr. Chan has supervised the Pulmonary Function Testing Laboratory and led the Severe Asthma Clinic at Singapore General Hospital.
He is passionate about clinical education and has held various teaching roles, receiving the Singapore Health Residency Outstanding Faculty Award in 2017 and 2018. Dr. Jim Teo Yeow Kwan

Dr. Jim Teo Yeow Kwan is a respiratory physician and intensivist practicing at Mt Alvernia Hospital and Parkway East Hospital. He specializes in internal medicine, respiratory medicine, and intensive care medicine, with a focus on asthma, chronic obstructive lung disease, non-invasive ventilation, and intensive care.
Dr. Teo graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1997 and completed his training in internal medicine, earning his Master of Medicine and MRCP (UK) in 2003. He further trained in respiratory and critical care medicine at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), where he was accredited as a specialist in respiratory medicine in 2007. He also trained in Intensive Care Medicine in Australia and holds European Diplomas in both Intensive Care and Adult Respiratory Medicine.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Teo worked as a Consultant at TTSH, managing critically ill patients in the medical intensive care unit (MICU), including cases during the H1N1 pandemic and oncology patients from John Hopkins Singapore. He also introduced the first bedside percutaneous tracheostomy in the MICU. He was recognized for his contributions during the SARS outbreak in 2003, receiving the Courage Star Award, along with other honors for his service at TTSH.
Dr. Teo is passionate about teaching and actively educates doctors and nurses, serving as an instructor for various life support courses and as a clinical teacher for medical undergraduates. He is also a trainer in intensive care medicine. Additionally, Dr. Teo is involved in several medical committees across various hospitals.

Dr. John Law Lik Muk

Dr. John Law is a consultant respiratory physician and intensivist at The Respiratory Practice, with expertise in respiratory conditions such as chronic cough, lung infections, lung cancer, COPD, and asthma. He also specializes in intensive care medicine, particularly complex ICU cases. Before joining private practice, he was a consultant at Changi General Hospital’s Department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Law is a dedicated educator, having served as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Graduate School of Medicine and Clinical Lecturer at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He was also a core faculty member in the Singhealth Internal Medicine Residency Program. Currently, he is a Board Member of the Respiratory Chapter at the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.
Dr. Law graduated from the University of Melbourne in 2002 and earned his MRCP (UK) in 2008. He underwent specialty training in Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine and was accredited as a Specialist by the Specialist Accreditation Board. Dr. Alvin Ng Choon Yong

Dr. Alvin Ng Choon Yong is a Consultant Respiratory Physician and Intensivist at The Respiratory Practice. He has held prominent leadership roles, including President of the Society of Intensive Care Medicine, Vice President of the Singapore Thoracic Society, and an executive committee member of the Chapter of Intensivists, Academy of Medicine Singapore. Dr. Ng has a strong volunteer background with St John Brigade Singapore and has been involved since his secondary school days.
Dr. Ng received the Singapore Armed Forces Medical Scholarship in 1996 and graduated in 2001 from the National University of Singapore (NUS). He specialized in Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine, with a focus on Obstructive Airway Disease and Invasive Mechanical Ventilation for ICU patients. He emphasizes personalized, patient-centric care.
Before entering private practice, Dr. Ng worked as a Consultant at Changi General Hospital, where he also served as Deputy Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit. He held the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Singapore Armed Forces and was the Commanding Officer of the Medical Classification Centre. He is the only doctor in Singapore certified as the Singapore Armed Forces Consultant for Respiratory and Intensive Care Medicine.
Dr. Ng is committed to training future medical professionals and has held several instructional roles, including Deputy Commander of the SAF Medical Training Institute and Medical Director of the St John Singapore National Association of Emergency Medical Technician Course. Dr. Steve Yang Tze Yi

Dr. Steve Yang is a highly qualified medical professional who earned his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 1994. He specialized in Respiratory Medicine and Intensive Care Medicine at Singapore General Hospital and further trained in Seattle at the University of Washington Medical Centre. Dr. Yang holds multiple fellowships and certifications, including the European Diploma in Intensive Care.

Currently, he serves as a Consultant in The Respiratory Practice, with particular expertise in Critical Care, Interstitial Lung Disease, and End-stage Lung Diseases. He also holds the position of Chairman of IRB-D, a subcommittee of SingHealth’s Centralized IRB. Dr. Yang is actively involved in research, contributing to medical journals, and serves as a reviewer for several notable publications such as the Singapore Medical Journal, Respirology, and Respiratory Care.

Dr Yip Hwee Seng

Dr. Yip Hwee Seng is a Respiratory Physician and Intensivist with The Respiratory Practice, specializing in asthma, pneumonia, endobronchial ultrasound, intensive care, and point of care ultrasound. He previously worked as a Senior Consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore, and served as the Clinical Director of the Medical Intensive Care Unit from 2013 to 2019.
Dr. Yip graduated from the National University of Singapore in 2001 and completed his specialist training in Respiratory Medicine in 2010, followed by Intensive Care Medicine in 2012. He was awarded the Academic Medicine Development Award by NUH in 2012 and 2015, which allowed him to pursue further training and implement quality improvement initiatives at NUH, including a successful early mobilisation project inspired by Johns Hopkins Hospital.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Yip is passionate about medical education. He has taught at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and the National University Health System Internal Medicine Residency Program. He is also a member of the Subspecialty Training Committee in Intensive Care Medicine.

Dr Lim Hui Fang

Dr Lim Hui Fang is a respiratory physician and intensivist practicing at Mount Elizabeth Novena, Farrer Park, and Gleneagles Hospitals. She is also a visiting senior consultant at NUH and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at NUS. Her specialties include complex airway diseases, such as severe asthma and bronchiectasis, as well as pneumonia, endobronchial ultrasound, and intensive care medicine.
She earned her MBBS from NUS in 2003, followed by MRCP (UK) and a Master’s in Internal Medicine in 2007. She received dual accreditation in Respiratory Medicine (2011) and Intensive Care Medicine (2013), and completed a fellowship in Severe Asthma at McMaster University in 2014–2015.
In 2017, she established the Complex Airway Clinic, offering multidisciplinary care for challenging airway conditions. She received the National Medical Excellence Award in 2015 for her team’s work on reducing pneumonia mortality. From 2018–2022, she advised MOH on the Singapore National Asthma Program.
Dr Lim is also active in medical education and research, having served as an undergraduate director at NUH and as Deputy Director of the NUS Immunology Translational Research Program. Her research focuses on asthma epidemiology, immune profiling, and pneumonia.

Dr. Choo Chuan Gee

He earned his medical degree from the University of Sheffield in 2000 and completed advanced training in the UK, receiving his Certificate of Completion of Training in 2010. Dr. Choo previously served as Senior Consultant and Head of Respiratory Medicine at Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where he led key initiatives in asthma and COPD care and advanced diagnostics.
He is also active in medical education and training, holding roles such as Senior Clinical Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and Associate Programme Director for the Respiratory Medicine Senior Residency Programme.
