Dr. Foo Joo Pin is a Consultant Endocrinologist and Physician, formerly serving as the Director of the Diabetes Centre at Changi General Hospital, Singapore. He graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and later earned membership in the Royal College of Physicians (UK). After completing advanced training in Endocrinology, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore (FAMS). Dr. Foo further honed his expertise during a fellowship at Harvard Medical School’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Joslin Diabetes Center, where he engaged in extensive clinical and translational research on diabetes, obesity, and endocrinology.

Throughout his career, Dr. Foo has contributed significantly to diabetes care by introducing multidisciplinary programs for intensive insulin therapy and continuous glucose monitoring. He also established an adolescent transition clinic to provide specialized care for young diabetic patients moving into adult healthcare systems. Additionally, as Program Director of the diabetes telehealth service at the Eastern Health Alliance, he integrated community-based care for diabetes management.

Dr. Foo has played an active role in shaping national healthcare strategies as a committee member of the National Steering Committee for Diabetes, appointed by the Ministry of Health. He is also a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, mentoring future doctors. His expertise in managing chronic endocrine conditions extends beyond diabetes to include thyroid disorders, osteoporosis, obesity, metabolic syndrome, calcium and vitamin D imbalances, hormonal issues, and reproductive health concerns.
